There is a long and passionate story between Cannes and Michelangelo Antonioni. Having come for the first time in 1949 (with Loving Lie), then with L'Avventura (1960), Eclipse (1962), Blow Up (1967), Profession: Reporter (1975) and Identification of a Woman (1982), the maestro is part of the Festival's history. Still active at the age of 91, Antonioni will present the world premiere of a short film. "All you need is to keep your eyes open: everything is laden with significance" said Antonioni as though talking of his life's work. The event will be followed by the screening of a new print of Blow Up, Grand Prix at the 1967 Festival de Cannes. Did anyone say Cannes Classics?
