The Festival de Cannes has entrusted its archive holdings to the Film Library (BIFI) which shall be responsible for its conversation, treatment and public distribution.
Currently available for consultation:
• - years 1938 to 1961 for the administrative holdings connected with the organisation of the Festival (689 archive files).
• - years 1949 to 1999 for the press holdings (1150 archive files).
On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Festival de Cannes, the "Cinémathèque Française" has created the website "Cannes, mémoire de Festival", which is a selection of unpublished archives files about the Festival and its most of the time unknown facets. This selection has been updated for 2008.
