Actresses by Valeria Bruni-Tedeschi
Actrices
Actresses by Valeria Bruni-Tedeschi, will be theatrically released in France this Wednesday, December 26th.
Second feature film by the French actress, director and screenwriter after It's Easier for a Camel…, Actresses won the Un Certain Regard Special Jury Prize at the 60th Festival de Cannes. Since, the film has been selected in several international festivals, in particular those of Pusan, New York and Turin.

In the words of Valeria Bruni-Tedeschi concerning the tragicomic overtones of her film: "It's like having the giggles at a funeral, you're ashamed and yet it's somehow oddly liberating. I couldn't explain the reasons for this type of laughter, perhaps part of us is rebelling and needs to be incorrect. It's necessary to laugh, otherwise life would be far too anguishing (...) It's a survival instinct."
