Pierre Collier, designer of the 2008 Official Poster
Pierre Collier, born in 1959 in northern France, studied at the Arts Graphiques and Beaux-Arts Schools of Roubaix and Lille, then came to Paris and entered the world of advertising in the early 80s. He created his first film poster in 1986 for Claire Devers' Black and White.
Pierre Collier has since designed more than 500 posters for such international auteur films as: Mystery Train by Jim Jarmusch, La Belle Noiseuse by Jacques Rivette, Raining Stones by Ken Loach, The Eel by Shoei Imamura, The Dreamlife of Angels by Erick Zonca, Yiyi by Edward Yang, The Son by Luc and Jean-Pierre Dardenne, Bowling for Columbine de Michael Moore, The Winds that Shakes the Bareley by Ken Loach, Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi and Vincent Paronnaud.
