The Great Spy Chase by Georges Lautner

 

A GREAT DAY IN HARLEM (USA, 1994, 60') by Jean Bach and 2 « jazz shorties » : AN ALL COLORED VAUDEVILLE SHOW (4’) de JAMMIN THE BLUES (11’). These will be screened from new prints 35mm printed by Daems Laboratory.

 

Tribute : CABRA MARCADO PARA MORRER (Brazil, 1984, 120') by Eduardo Coutinho.

Tribute : XICA DA SILVA (XICA) (Brazil, 1976, 114') de Carlos Diegues.

  

THE RING (United Kingdom, 1927, 109) by Alfred Hitchcock, live musical accompaniment by Stephen Horne. Restoration undertaken by the BFI National Archive, and funded by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, The Film Foundation, Deluxe 142 and the Mohamed S. Farsi Foundation.

  

THE BALLAD OF NARAYAMA (Japan, 1958, 98') by Keisuke Kinoshita. The digital version has been restored and funded by Shochiku Co., Ltd. and Shochiku Media Worx Inc.; digital restoration by Imagica Corp. and Imagica West Corp.

  

RUNAWAY TRAIN (USA, 1985, 111’) by Andrei Konchalovsky. A new print has been struck courtesy of Metro Goldwyn Mayer/Park Circus.

  

THE GREAT SPY CHASE (France, 1964, 118') by Georges Lautner. Film restored by Gaumont and the Eclair Group.

  

LAWRENCE OF ARABIA (United Kingdom, 1962, 222') by David Lean. Restored by Sony Pictures Entertainment.

  

ONCE UPON A TIME IN AMERICA (USA, 1984, 245') by Sergio Leone. This restoration was requested by Martin Scorsese and supervised by the Cinematheque of Bologna at the Immagine Ritrovata Laboratory, in association with Andrea Leone Films, The Film Foundation and Regency Enterprises. The restoration was funded by The Film Foundation and Gucci.

TESS (France/United Kingdom, 1979, 171') by Roman Polanski. A Pathé restoration, image restored by Eclair Group and Le Diapason for the audio restoration.

 

VIAGGIO IN ITALIA/JOURNEY TO ITALY (Italy/France, 1954, 97’) by Roberto Rossellini. Print restored by Cineteca di Bologna with L'Immagine Ritrovata in collaboration with Istituto Luce Cinecittà, CSC-Cineteca Nazionale and The Co-Production Office.


JAWS (USA, 1975, 124’) by Steven Spielberg. The restoration was carried out by Universal Studios Digital Services and the post-production team of Amblin Entertainment.

  

CLEO FROM 5 TO 7 (France, 1961, 90’) by Agnès Varda. Digital print, restored by Ciné Tamaris, CNC French Film Archives.

FINAL CUT - HÖLGYEIM ÉS URAIM (Final cut - ladies and gentlemen)
(Hungary), produced by Béla Tarr, which will close Cannes Classics on Saturday, May 26th.
