CRITERIA
Unless a special waiver is granted, films must comply with the following conditions in order to be selected:

• - have been made during the 18 months preceding the Festival;
• - have not been presented at major international festivals. A film can have been shown in a festival in its country of origin ;
• - not exceed 60 minutes in running-time.

N.B.:
- Documentaries are not accepted.

- It is possible to send a working copy of the film. When filling out the entry form, please state if it is the final version or a working version.

A film may be registered both in the Cinéfondation and the short films in Competition selections providing it complies with the rules and regulations of both sections.
Please note that the registration for the short films in Competition is a separate one and that the deadline is not the same: more information.



APPLICATION DEADLINE
Once the application form below has been filled out and validated, the following items much reach the Cinéfondation before February 15th, 2013 (not post-marked February 15th): 

• - A DVD
• - A copy of your registration slip showing the reference (bar code) automatically given to your application and which is essential for the identification of your file. You get the registration slip once you have validated your application.

MATERIAL

The Selection Committee only screens the films in DVD (NTSC or PAL).

A Blu-ray DVD is accepted.


SUBTITLES
If the original version of the film is neither English nor French, the DVD must be subtitled in English or in French otherwise a dialogue list in English or in French must be sent together with the DVD.

DVDs should be sent directly to the Cinéfondation office :

Should the sender choose to use an express mail service, he should clearly mention on the package that it is "for cultural purpose only” and “without commercial value” and declare a symbolic value of "US$ 1" only. The sender should make sure he pays all transport costs and import taxes. Otherwise the Cinéfondation reserves the right to refuse the package.

Once your film has been received and registered we shall send you an email of confirmation.


APPLICATION FEE
No entry fee is required to submit a short film to the Cinéfondation.


DVD RETURN
The DVDs are not sent back but can be collected at the Cinéfondation office before the end of June 2013.


SCREENING FORMAT FOR CANNES
Selected films will be screened in Cannes either in 35mm print or in DCP (Digital Cinema Package) with a JPEG 2000 file.
