About the Marché
In parallel to the Festival de Cannes, the Marché du Film, since its creation in 1959, has become platform of exchanges between professionals from all around the world. Each year, producers, international sellers, distributors and financiers meet up in Cannes to form partnerships for tomorrow’s films. In 2009, the Marché welcomed 10,000 international participants from 101 countries and representing almost 4,000 companies.
The Marché du Film favours exchanges, but also gives great visibility to participants present through a slate of services : meetings, exhibition spaces and screenings. Last year, around 4,000 films and projects were presented; there were 1,500 screenings of a thousand of these films, of which 75% were premieres.
In constant progression, the figures of the Marché have allowed it to position itself as the place to be for films.
A partner for all professionals, the Marché du Film stimulates the world of cinema. Thanks to its wide range of information tools, it accompanies its participants’ activity all year long.
